Confederate Ensembles Press Release – Season XV

With all of our corps out of the race for the championship, we’ve been left with more time to plan for the next season. We will be instituting a lot of changes, which we will reveal right now, along with a new potential show concept.

Bear in mind, that everything that is about to announced is contrary to just about everything stated previously.

For starters, the upcoming corps Ypsilanti Vanguard and Manitou Beach Brigade will not be competing in Season XV, so as to better prepare them for Season XVI. Confederate Regiment, however, will be competing.

With that, the original intention for Confederate Regiment’s program was “Monty Python’s Spamalot.” The staff decided to not evolve this show concept any further, as it does not well represent the image of seriousness that Confederate Regiment tries to convey.

Confederate Regiment just finished Season XIV with an ambitious drum corps adaptation of “The Dark Knight.” We have decided to leave the genre of story-telling, and move to something slightly more interpretive.

The working title for Confederate Regiment’s Season XV program is “Almost Heaven.”

This show concept borrows from the historical references that the corps’ name suggests. The entire show is based around the Southern United States.

The show is an attempt to capture all the splendor of the Southern U.S. in a drum corps show. And we are using songs from artists whose fame mainly, if not completely resides in the South. Most notably, Jimmy Dean and Lynyrd Skynyrd.

We aren’t going to announce any song selections as of yet, but we thought we’d give you a little taste of what to expect next season.
