Confederate Ensembles Weekly Update- June 28th, 2011

After about a week and a half of fierce competition in DCPI’s 16th season, we’ve decided to start a weekly update, almost like a newsletter. Make sure to check back for more weekly updates like this:

Alamo Scouts

Confederate Ensembles’ new Open Class corps has made quite a name for themselves in the last few days. This being their inaugural season, they have done extremely well. The corps lays claim to a respectable 4th-place finish, three 3rd-place finishes, a 2nd-place finish, and also boasts two 1st-place finishes. You don’t often see a brand new corps do this well right out of the gate.

Confederate Regiment

Confederate Ensembles’ top act, Confederate Regiment, is also having a rather splendid season so far. Out of seven shows, the corps boasts three 1st-place finishes, the most recent of which in Troy, New York, on July 27th. After scoring a solid 74.511 in Scranton, Pennsylvania the day before, Confederate Regiment left Troy with a remarkable 78.205, winning every caption handsomely. Confederate Regiment might finally get that Finals spot they’ve been gunning for.
